Insured on an All Risks basis with extensions of cover, this section includes accidental loss or damage and theft including theft of equipment from an unattended vehicle while working (inclusive of commuting to & from locations).
As a Professional Photographer/Videographer your equipment are the tools of your trade, and so they need to be insured correctly. Camera Insurance for instance, CliiK offers a range of range of covers for not just photographic kit (i.e. cameras, lenses, lights, tripods, carry cases etc.), but also for other items now being carried with you on location such as laptops & printers.
Essential Insurance covers when you run your business from premises such as Photography Studio's or where you manufacture for instance.
Covering buildings (if owned or where required to insure), tenants improvements' (if rented) along with fixtures & fittings, contents and secured items such as lighting systems, computer systems, studio sets and mini labs.
Not all claims are as simple as a lost/damaged camera equipment body's or lenses, some can involve no physical attribute. Should you undertake a job whereby you are expected to provide pictures to a high standard, failure to do so could result in your be proven to have been negligent and so be faced with compensation costs or the costs of rectifying the error. The cause may not be wholly down to you, but you will be deemed to be professionally negligent in failing to deliver the images.
This cover is extremely important to those who engage in wedding and commercial/advertising photography. Don't deliver the images and you will have some very unhappy clients. Cliik provides cover at £100,000 within its policy, to ensure you are adequately covered. Higher Limits are of course available to meet you contractual and obligatory requirements.

Working with third parties you have to make sure you are covered for any injuries or damages to their property you may cause. With the 'Blame & Claim' culture rising, there is an ambulance chaser round every corner, and with levels of compensation increasing, the need to make sure you are protected is even greater.
As a professional photographer you will go to great lengths to make sure no-one gets hurt or property gets damaged, but sometimes things can happen even with all your safety checks in place. You may have sited the lights somewhere where no-one can get to them; you may have taped all wires to the floor, but there is always a chance that someone or something may occur and that can be the one that leads to a claim.
CliiK provides Public Liability Insurance cover at £5million as standard to ensure that our clients are more than adequately covered.
How does the saying go - never employ anyone? OK, that of course wouldn't be possible, in any case you would be rather busy!
Employment of anyone on any basis means that you need to have Employers Liability Insurance cover in place by law. (There are a few exceptions such as sole employee of a limited company or employment of spouse). From full time, paid employees to unpaid volunteers (young people on work experience, photography students helping out at the weekend, and even yes even the unpaid), however long they work, however much they're paid (not paid), if they are working to your instructions they are employees and so you need the cover in place.
The cover is for the potential costs of compensation should any employee get injured while working for you (either on location or your premises). Run the risk of not having the insurance and you run the risk of a fine from the Health & Safety Executive which could be quite significant. Even failing to show a valid Employers Liability certificate and the fine could be up to £2500 per day.
CliiK provides cover at £10million Employers Liability Insurance for Photographers. As with all businesses, and not just that of a professional photographer, the inability to trade will impact on your earnings. By including Business Interruption Insurance cover within your policy it can assist you in the event of any financial shortfall or extra expense incurred, following an insured peril under your property cover.
Should you not be able to work from your main premises you could be faced with the costs of finding an alternative premises to work form or accept a loss of earning. Business Interruption insurance cover can be included, covering either or both scenarios and so ensure your business doesn't face financial hardship during any such period.
Depending on the type of business you run as a professional photographer there are options in terms of types of cover required. Increased Cost of Working insurance, this is exactly what it says, its covers you for increased costs, this may be temporary renting of alternative premises for instance should your current premises be lost due to an insured peril. Are you wholly dependent on your business premises for a process, this could for instance be manufacturing of stretched canvasing or framing images you have taken. See tradeCliik for further details should your business be more than just imaging.
With the world becoming more complicated with more rules & regulations, can you afford the costs of having to defend yourself in court? Problems can arrive from many sources such as, problems with suppliers, employees in the event of a tribunal or even the tax man. CliiK use DAS, one of the foremost names in legal insurance providing up to £50,000 worth of expenses cover.
