Clare Louise – award winning photographer.
Clare is one of the UK’s most extraordinary photographers.
In her own words she admits she’s not a normal photographer instead choosing to visit fantasy and fairy lands with the aid of her camera. Anyone who has ever gazed upon her work can only be in awe of what she brings to life.
As a girl growing up, her grandfather’s photographs introduced her to the magic that is photography. Often the subject for many of his shot’s, Clare placed herself behind the camera eventually years later when she ‘borrowed’ her brothers SLR to photograph her kids. A camera that was never returned to its rightful owner, but was the spark for one of the UK’s leading professional photographers. The day her sibling surrendered one of his prize possessions, could he have known that not only would he not see it again, but he had inadvertently sparked the creative genius that is Clare Louise.
Now an accomplished award winning photographer, and a sought after one too, she continues to push herself forward striving to be as creative and professional as she can be. Whilst all the time maintaining contact with her ‘land of make believe’.
In 2004 she gained her Licentiate level within the Master Photographers Association (www.thempa.com) and 4 years and several awards later in 2008, she gained the next level, Associateship. She also took titles for Fujifilm Envisage Photography Awards (2006), Photographic Overseas Training (www.pto-uk.com) Open Category winner (2007), MPA Parent & Child Photographer of the Year (2009) as well as being the West Midlands MPA Region Overall Photographer of the Year 2005, 2006 & 2009.
Now striving for her Fellowship, she has also become a mentor within the MPA imparting her enthusiasm into the new breed, and is still seen as a source of inspiration for many photographers.
When asked to sum herself up in her own words she replied...”there are times when I’m a photographer, but mostly my heart, soul & mind are somewhere else. Somewhere that can’t be seen with the human eye, only in my mind. And with my images I try and show the world as I see it, feel it and know it. And the rest just seems to follow!”
